Get in contact with the biggest and best sheet metal duct shop in Canberra and surrounds. We are looking for 2 junior sheet metal apprentices.

Be apart of a well organised business structure where you will learn the following over a 4-year TAFE based apprenticeship.

Full factory tour available for the right applicant.

What does the job involve, sheet metal duct manufacture.
- Using roll forming machinesPittsburgh
- 8mm male
- Slide machine
- Power flange
- Channel machine
- TDF
- And other roll forming machines used to manufacture duct work and components
- Learning to assembly the duct work using hand toolsAir operated hammer tools
- Sealing duct with sealer
- Power swage machines
- Spot welders
- Corner machines
- Reading and understanding construcyion drawings
- Learning to use the CNC water jet cutter for all the insulation
- CNC laser cutting
- Full duct coiline operationPicking supplies needed to cut each job
- Learning to use the scarp wool press
- Keeping the area clean and tidy
- Insulating the ductworkPinning the insulation to the duct
- Channel the ends of the insulation
- Taping external duct
- Loading duct into cages
- Forklift operation in duct storage
- Assisting in loading trucks of duct
- Keeping the shop cleanSweeping floors as needed
- Must be willing to work well in a team environment
- Must have a dedicated work ethic
- Currently enrolled or willing to be enrolled -Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade

Paying above award rates.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Christmas bonus
- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates
- Signing bonus
