**The company**
A leading building and civil construction company, delivering a wide range of services professionally and capably, is looking for an Bookkeeper/Payroll Officer with a background in Construction to join their close-knit team environment.

**The role**
The role responsible for administering and maintaining the monthly payroll, ensuring the function operates in a timely and appropriate manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Efficient payroll processing and superannuation payments
- An understanding of relevant legislation
- Producing reports on a timely basis
- Coordination of activities across the payroll function to ensure consistency
- Ensure payroll function is operating on a timely, efficient basis through planning and scheduling of tasks to ensure external deadlines are met
- Coordinate process improvements within own area, to ensure duplications are minimized and demands on systems and or resources is reduced
- Contributing to the sharing of knowledge and information within the payroll team and with internal clients

**Qualifications**:

- At least 3-5 years’ relevant experience in Australian payroll
- Solid understanding of award interpretation
- Knowledge of basic payroll procedures, organisational structure and organisational policies
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work with conflicting time constraints.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and competent using MS Excel
- Minimum high school level of education (Essential)
