Our client is a global mining technology leader with endless opportunities of growth for their staff and clients in Industry.

They are currently seeking an Assembly Technician to join their team in Brisbane, to start ASAP. This is a newly created role. This is a junior position, starting as a contract with a possibility of more in the future. The technician will assist many areas of their business including their Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Support and R&D teams.

**Major Areas of Responsibility**:

- Product assembly, calibration and testing
- PCB testing
- Assisting with root cause analysis of faulty and/or returned equipment
- Assisting in populating prototype PCBs, cable assemblies and debugging of issues identified during prototype testing
- Running engineering change request projects; and
- Standing in for production, logistics and product support teams as required.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in Soldering - high density IC, 0201 component (IPC certified desired).
- Knowledge and experience of electronics and electronic product assembly (including cable assembly).
- Hands on manufacturing experience (e.g. warehouse, production line or logistics); and
- Basic PC knowledge (e.g. MS Office, MRP exposure).

In addition to the above, we are seeking an individual that has strong communication and time management skills as well as a high level of personal drive.
