Manager - Financial Advisory

KPMG's Financial Advisory team in our Consulting Division, partner with CFO's, program and portfolio managers and finance transformation leaders to deliver efficient and effective finance functions, supporting the achievement of strategic objectives and growth. Four key areas we support:

- ** Finance strategy and target operating model** - defining, reviewing and transforming the finance function to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business.
- ** Enterprise Performance Management** - defining key business drivers and enhancing budgeting and planning functions to support better decision making.
- ** Digital finance** - assessing, recommending and supporting implementation of technology that better supports efficient and effective finance functions.
- ** Finance talent** - defining the current and future workforce capability needs, including technical and behavioural capabilities, and how to build a future focused finance workforce.

**Your Opportunity**

There is an exciting opportunity to join our growing and diverse team of professionals as a talented Manager. As a valued team player you’ll work with extraordinary people who are passionate and courageous about supporting clients to meet and exceed their potential.

This role will focus on four technical capabilities, and you will have a minimum **AGSVA** **Baseline clearance** with NV1 or higher preferred. The technical capabilities required for our work are:

- ** Project reporting and analysis**: simplifying and automating the production of financial reporting and forecasts, bringing rigour to financial performance tracking and providing strategic insights.
- ** Automation and data analytics**:embedding data analytics techniques to support and enhance decision-making by improving speed, integration, visualisation, and data accessibility.
- ** Business case and financial analysis**: resource costing to operationalise new policies, cost allocation and financial analysis, and developing funding and investment strategies to inform critical decisions.
- ** Procurement advice**:focused on financial aspects of approaches to market, including the financial impacts of a tendered offer and assessing value for money and benefits realisation.

As a key member of the team you will support the delivery of client engagements to a consistently high standard of accuracy, project management and timeliness. Specifically, you will:

- Develop your consulting skills across our range of technical capabilities and sharing your insights and capabilities internally with the team.
- Partner with clients to understand their challenges and assist with assessing, uplifting and transforming their finance functions at all layers (program, portfolio and entity wide).
- Improve our clients’ understanding and processes around management accounting functions through designing and implementing recommendations that achieve strategic outcomes.
- Prepare and critically analyse financial models to ensure the models are accurate and commensurate with the client’s operating environment, supported with a written report and recommendations to ensure better practice standards are met.
- Facilitate business development activities and assist in the development of proposals.
- Coach and support more junior members of the team.

- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including an ability to clearly articulate complex financial issues to all levels of leadership within the organisation.
- Experience operating in a consulting environment or in a client facing role is high desirable.
- Tertiary qualification (preferably in accounting, finance, actuarial, business, economics and data analysis) and post graduate finance qualifications (CA, CPA, CIMA and/or other relevant qualifications).
- Demonstrated work experience and exposure to any of the following: financial transformation, efficiency and effectiveness reviews, procurement, management accounting and reporting, enterprise performance management, finance technology implementation, data and analytics, government financial practices and/or process improvement.
