We’re currently working with a major player in the Australian infrastructure and transportation sector, they’re seeking an Applications Manager with strong project delivery experience to come onboard and play a significant and strategic role in BAU operations and future development projects. This role will be engaged on a full-time basis based out of the eastern suburbs with a current rate set from $175k to $205k including super with a performance bonus on top.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with third-party providers to rectify those problems.
- Engage with business representatives to understand and clarify business requirements to ensure that appropriate IT solutions are delivered to meet that need.
- Ensure all affected personnel are made aware of the changes.
- Carry out impact analysis of new projects and contribute to the assessment of how a project will impact an existing committed program of work.
- Develop a preliminary systems architecture in the initial stages of a project, or when considering alternative solutions options.
- Contribute to business cases to support project proposals.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure appropriate systems design, implementation activities and problem resolution.
- Participate in IT services vendor selection (or the evaluation of hardware, software and new IT technologies) process by developing specific evaluation criteria and making recommendations therein.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and constructive relationships between key project parties and forums.
- Provide professional and reliable assistance to the Operations team.

**Required Skills & Specialisms**:

- Post-secondary qualifications in an IT related discipline.
- Significant demonstrable technical and commercial management experience.
- Significant project management experience in the delivery of complex projects, preferably in infrastructure.
- Significant experience in the specification and architectural definition of complex IT systems.
- In depth knowledge covering the whole of the software development lifecycle.
- Extensive knowledge of systems engineering and architecture definition.
- Excellent planning and resource management skills to achieve set targets and deadlines.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail and demonstrated use of initiative.
- Ability to work independently and with others as required.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and numeracy skills.
- Understanding of legal responsibilities, obligations and ethical standards as they relate to this role.
