**The Role**:
The Environmental Advisor role is central to ensuring that NRMA’s key Environmental and Sustainability objectives and standards are meet across the NRMA platform. Acting in a Business Partnership role with our tourism business units, the central role of the Environmental Advisor is to coach, mentor, advocate and advance in partnership with key stakeholders environmental and sustainability standards and practices in alignment with NRMAs ESG Strategy and NRMAs overall strategic business objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Group Environment and Sustainability, the Environmental Advisor will be responsible for delivering in partnerships, flagship initiatives from the environmental and sustainability roadmap whilst continually looking for innovative solutions to drive and leverage our environmental and sustainability performance across the NRMA group. You will be key in ensuring environmental and sustainability standards are met, maintained, and exceeded.

Key deliverables include:

- You will lead the setting of standards across the relevant Business Units
- develop, review and implement Environmental and Sustainability standards and procedures,
- support the development of group policies and targets for environmental performance.
- support environmental assurance activities and oversee the delivery and implementation of recommended outcomes to ensure compliance,
- share and drive environmental and sustainability improvements across the NRMA group.
- play an active role to ensure environmental due diligence is undertaken as part of our M&A efforts.

**How Do You Measure Up?**

**Essential**
- Tertiary level qualifications (e.g. bachelor degree) in Environmental Management, Sustainability or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively and influence diverse internal stakeholders building a broader organisational coalition and culture around environment and sustainability.
- 3-5 years+ experience in environmental management.
- Demonstrated understanding of State and Federal Environmental planning and compliance legislation.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, development and implementation of environmental standards, management plans and supporting procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in participating environmental inspections, risk assessments and assurance programs.
- Drive and impact-orientation - proven ability to prioritise to solve, set a high ambition level and persist until goals have been reached.
- Willingness for intra and interstate travel as required.
- Comfortable adapting to changing circumstances, dealing with ambiguity and making positive use of the opportunities presented.

**Desirable**
- Qualifications and experience in Environmental Management Systems and auditing (ISO 14401) and or demonstrated experience.
- Experience across diverse asset portfolios including, but not limited to, integrated transport, tourism and marine assets
- Experience undertaking environmental due diligence activities for projects and acquisitions.
