**City of Parramatta**has partnered with **My Gateway**and we have a fantastic opportunity for 2 Horticulture apprentices to join

As part of this apprenticeship you will gain a nationally recognised qualification - **Certificate III in Horticulture - Parks & Garden**

**As part of the apprenticeship, some of**your responsibilities may include**:

- Assist your rotational team leader in delivering all works, programs, and schedules to the agreed standards
- Conduct inspections of parks and other facilities
- Make decisions and implement work practices in line with acceptable practices of the Horticulture/Arboriculture/Greenkeeping trade and industry
- Adapt to changing priorities and carry out other tasks as directed, particularly during wet weather or emergencies, to meet community needs
- Learn and demonstrate an awareness of costs and ensure that operations are undertaken efficiently with mínimal waste
- Show initiative by providing feedback and input on improvements in operating procedures, programs, and work schedules, including upgrading or improving plant, equipment, materials, and tools used by the team or unit
- Ensure correct completion of all necessary administrative functions (electronic or paper-based) associated with the department
- Gain a good understanding of Council's software and technology, specifically Worx online (iPad), and troubleshooting capabilities
- Ensure a safe workplace for all works undertaken by:

- Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
- Complying with any reasonable instructions, policies, and procedures of Council.
