An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Engineering professional to lead a multidiscipline engineering team at our Railton site in the beautiful and pristine northern region of Tasmania. Reporting directly to the site Operations Manager, this role will lead a department responsible for providing strategic and specialist engineering advice, lifecycle management, and project management and delivery for the Devonport and Railton operational sites.

**About the role**:
The role will be a crucial part of the site's senior leadership team. You will lead and be responsible for the coordination, resourcing and allocation of all activities within the Project Office and maintain systems and processes to deliver engineering governance.

Other key components will include:

- Developing and leading a technically competent, multidiscipline and focused project team
- Management of the site Capex definition and delivery program
- Development of project feasibilities
- Liaising with third party engineering services for specialist engineering advice
- Oversee the preparation, engagement and awarding of project contracts
- Supervision of contracting principles for the execution of works
- Ensuring best practice engineering project management governance
- Providing core engineering and specialist engineering services
- Providing expert guidance in the management of operational assets, supporting implementation of plant lifecycle strategies which support the strategic business plan.
- Meeting key internal reporting requirements

**About you**:
To be considered for this role, you will be a leader in your field and have vast heavy industry experience with proven leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities. A strong technical skill set combined with commercial acumen is critical. The ability to influence at all levels of the business, not just at site, is a key facet of this role.

Other crucial components of your background will include:

- Proven success in engineering, maintenance or asset management roles within heavy industry, resources, manufacturing, or construction sectors
- Advanced Diploma (minimum) or Degree qualification (preferable) in an Engineering discipline
- Project Management qualification (preferable)
- Strong influencing, relationship building and negotiating skills
- Proven leadership, management and planning skills, with the ability mentor and develop high performing teams
- In depth understanding of asset and lifecycle management strategies and value chain
- Experience managing the development and execution of operational and capital budgets
- Proven experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders
- Familiarity with reliability processes and tools
- Formal risk management and Incident investigation methodology is desirable
- High proficiency with typical engineering office software suites, including SAP
