Experienced Pharmacy Assistant

You will work independently with limited supervision within a broad range of varied tasks. You will have the support of the pharmacist in the provision of advice and recommendations to patients/customers on medicines and medicinal products. You will be required to provide support and advice to other staff or undertake a defined co-ordination role within the pharmacy.
When working in the pharmacy, you are to provide non-therapeutic advice and recommendations to patients/customers on medicines and medicinal products in the ‘Pharmacy’ and ‘over the counter’ products. For ‘pharmacist only’ medical products use questioning techniques and active listen and refer information to the pharmacist for further patient consultation.
General:
- Greet or acknowledge every customer who enters the store.
- Care for customers by recommending appropriate products that will meet their needs.
- Approach customers and provide product information and advice.
- Offer further assistance if products are not available e.g. store transfer, customer special order.
- Ensure customers are informed of the features and benefits of products, detailing instructions on how to use the product.
- Ensure thorough understanding of Customer Rewards/Loyalty Program.
- Receive and resolve customer complaints and refer to the Pharmacist Manager if required.
- Accept prescriptions from customers and ensure the correct patient’s details are recorded and Generic Medications are encouraged.
- Promote the professional image of Pharmacy at all times.
- Provide continuous assistance and support to all customer service areas within the store.
- Provide customers with post sale support and offer further contact and follow up if required.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-24 per week
