Austral Pets is looking for a reliable, caring, and enthusiastic Kennel Hand / Dog Grooming Assistant to join our team

**About the Role**:
This is a hands-on position where you’ll be working directly with dogs, cats and Pocket Pets in our boarding and grooming facility. You’ll be assisting our groomers, keeping our kennel clean, and ensuring all pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.

**Preferred Experience**:

- **Dog Experience**: Work-related dog care experience, especially dog handling skills.
- **Bathing Experience: A**nimal bathing experience in a professional setting and be able to proficiently bath and dry dogs of various sizes.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills
- Professional in client interactions.
- **Required**: Valid Driver's license and ability to perform Pet Taxi tasks as needed

**Your Responsibilities Will Include**:

- Assisting groomers with baths, drying, brushing, and handling dogs
- Cleaning kennels, play areas, and grooming spaces
- Feeding and caring for pets in our facility
- Walking, playing with, and monitoring dogs
- Providing lots of love, patience, and attention to animals in our care
- Maintaining a safe and positive environment for both pets and staff

- Has a genuine love for animals
- Is reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Can follow instructions and work well in a team
- Has good communication skills with both people and pets
- Is comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- (Bonus but not essential) Has experience in animal care or grooming

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $20.73 - $26.19 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 - 30 per week
