Clinical Coder

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Assign accurate medical codes to diagnoses and procedures in adherence to Australian coding guidelines and healthcare regulations.
- Assigning industry-recognised codes such as ICD-10 and OPCS-4
- Review and analyse patient medical records to ensure precise documentation and coding.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and acquire additional information when necessary.
- Stay abreast of changes in Australian coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
- Participate in coding audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian coding standards.
- Provide training and education to healthcare staff on coding-related topics.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required.
- Experience in clinical coding, preferably in an Australian hospital or healthcare setting.
- Proficient understanding of ICD-10, ACHI, and ACS classifications, as well as familiarity with the Australian coding system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in Australia.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
