Magnus is currently looking to recruit an experienced **Welfare worker** in **Sydney**. As a welfare worker, you are qualified and experienced in working with individuals, families, and groups in order to ensure they are able to attain and maintain social inclusion.
Some key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assists workers and management in ensuring the best interests of each party.
- Work closely with workers and employers to maintain a healthy working relationship.
- Manage workers as early as possible in a compliant manner.
- Contribute to the formulation of internal labor management policies by providing suggestions to factory management.
- Establish a communication strategy for employees so that they can utilize factory facilities to their fullest potential.
- Make sure the worker's health and safety is being monitored and the appropriate steps are being taken.
- Ensure that the workplace provides the necessary amenities, such as toilets, dining facilities, medical facilities, and child care facilities.
- Maintain a close watch on cases of sexual abuse of female workers, and take immediate action if any issues arise.
- Monitoring the improvement of the workers to make sure they are not mentally disturbed by any situation.
- Provide workers with the information they need at work.
- Ensure that workers are provided with guidelines on how to avoid any hazardous situation and take precautions against fires and injuries.
- Manage welfare activities by keeping records.
- Ensure the workers are trained and aware of legal obligations so that they do not get involved in any illegal activities.
- Make sure the production floor is a good place to work by implementing good practices.
Welfare worker Requirements:
- Must have VET qualification
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people
- The ability to tolerate and be open-minded
- Skills in planning and organizing
- Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative
- Taking responsibility for one's actions
- Stress-resilient and capable of managing conflict
- Commitment to human rights and social justice
