Serco has a dedicated team of over 600 people supporting operations at Fiona Stanley Hospital, including an on-site ICT team of over 100 professionals. We work with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to consult, design, build, maintain, and support technology platforms, and are critical to the ongoing delivery of clinical services in Western Australia's largest and most digitally enabled public healthcare facility.

**About the Role**

The Estate Service performs an effective maintenance service that provides a safe environment for high quality patient care. Contributing to creating Australia's leading health care environment by keeping the hospital buildings and equipment in a safe and usable condition that allows for their efficient utilisation and overall effectiveness. Working as part of the large maintenance team the Mechanical Technician is a key member of a multi-disciplinary team that undertakes response and rectification maintenance works to achieve a high standard of performance within the Estates service.

**Your ideal skills & experience**
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Knowledge and experience on control systems for commercial and residential buildings reviewing trends using BMS systems.
- Be highly proficient using testing instruments, tools and equipment to Perform asset commissioning and performance monitoring.
- Competent fault finding on mechanical related assets.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) & reactive repairs across a wide variety of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) & refrigeration systems across the hospital.
- Proactively monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure plant are functioning optimally.
- Providing technical support on wide variety of mechanical plant including Heat exchangers, Cooling towers, Pumps & motors. HVAC assets such as AHU Variable Air Volume VAV & heat recovery systems.
- A strong customer service focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to continually developing your skills across broad Mechanical asset portfolio.
- A can-do attitude and positive work ethic. Taking personal responsibility for resolving customer problems and concerns.
- HVAC Trade Certificate, ARCTICK licence, Including restricted electrical licence.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience in hospital environment
- Competent in use of BMS & HVAC controls
- Experience with Pump & Motor overhauls
