Restaurant Host/hostess

Postino Osteria is going to be Summer Hills’ newest traditional Italian neighbourhood osteria.

It’s a bar. It’s a restaurant. It’s casual and affordable, without compromising on quality. Our menu will have a selection of delicious well-made dishes, including snacks, daily specials and pastas using locally sourced ingredients that showcases Italian cuisine at its’ best. All of which will be beautifully complimented with a wonderful cocktail list and specially curated cellar.

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Host to join our opening team to service what will be a busy 120 capacity venue. We will cater for a la carte service, group bookings and special events.

You will work under the management team to aid in bringing Postino Osteria to life from the ground up. We value bubbly and engaging personalities, Italian hospitality experience, and passion in our team members, so if you have prior experience with Italian cuisine and are ready to showcase your hospitable, charismatic, and neighbourhood-loving personality, we want to hear from you

Essential Requirements:

- Australian working rights
- Hold a current NSW RSA Certificate
- Minimum of 1 year experience in FOH hospitality
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Computer literacy is a must
- Polite & personable in-person & over the phone manner
- Great memory for faces with the ability to create rapport with our customers
- Ability to keep cool under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent grooming standards

Preferred Requirements:

- Experience with SevenRooms or other online reservations platform
- Speak Italian? Bonus

Your duties will include:

- Answering phones and taking reservations using SevenRooms
- Hosting during service, including evenings and weekends
- Table management using SevenRooms
- Meeting and greeting our guests and guiding them to their allocated tables
- Menu presentation upon seating and first drink orders
- Resetting tables to assist the floor team in between bookings
- Checking bill accuracy and bill presentation to customers
- Receiving payments

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.23 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
