Our Perth office is looking for a Health & Safety Manager to provide leadership and HSE advice and support to WSP leaders, teams and projects in Western Australia with a focus on the mining sector. This role will see you enhance your capabilities and contribute to continuous improvement in doing safety differently. You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.

**What you’ll do**:

- Lead and support the development and implementation of a systems approach to HSE including providing accurate and timely HSE advice. In particular:

- Provide Health & Safety expertise relating to contractual documentation including review of contractor Health & Safety documentation.
- Review contractor Health and safety Management Plans and associated documentation and performance against the contractual requirements of the proposed scope of work and tender engagement.
- Lead and support key influencers, including people leaders and project managers/directors on methods to foster and monitor a positive HSE culture
- Lead development of HSE risk management processes and facilitate and support their implementation and maintenance
- Implement, monitor and evaluate processes and procedures to investigate, analyse and report on incidents and nonconformities indicating failures or inadequacies of controls. Mentor operations personnel to participate in incident investigations.
- Communicate, engage with and influence people and project managers, and workers to mitigate risk and optimise worker health, safety and environmental performance. This includes maintaining close liaison with contractor organisations engaged by the projects as well as the client Health and Safety Managers to ensure change management and implementation of new initiatives across the program of works.

**About you**:

- Over 10 years operational experience in providing HSE advice, improving management systems and fostering continuous improvement
- Experience working in a mining & resource environment, either with an EPCM, client or contractor
- Working knowledge of HS&E and Work Cover requirements and implementation
- Leadership skills with willingness to drive growth and improvement for the organisation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team, with a range of stakeholders
- Tertiary Qualification in HSE (desirable)
