We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Female Disability Support Workers to join our team in Flinders View, QLD. This role involves supporting a participant with challenging behaviours and complex mental health needs (schizophrenia) in a community and home-based setting.

About the Role

This position involves providing one-on-one support to a participant who requires behavioural and emotional support. You’ll be part of a dedicated team focused on maintaining safety, building trust, and promoting independence.

Key responsibilities:

- Personal care and daily living support
- Implementing behaviour management and support strategies
- Light household tasks and meal preparation
- Transport and community access support
- Encouraging social participation and skill development
- Maintaining accurate shift and incident documentation

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for female support workers who are:

- Empathetic, calm, and patient, with the ability to stay composed under pressure
- Passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities
- Creative problem-solvers who can adapt to changing situations
- Professional and reliable, with strong communication skills
- Confident working independently and within a team environment

Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
- Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours and/or schizophrenia
- Experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or community-based support
- Current Driver Licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) - can be arranged by us
- National Police Check (required prior to commencement)
- Must have full work rights in Australia
- Must be female - as required by the client’s care plan

Availability
- Day, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts
- Rotating roster - flexibility required
