about the role

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Advocacy Advisor to join the Corporate Affairs team. The Advocacy Advisor will identify issues, policies and regulations which can impact Chevron’s business interests, research and provide analysis on their impact on Chevron’s business, work with internal stakeholders to develop policy positions and develop and execute advocacy strategies to influence federal, state and local government stakeholders.

This role will be based in Perth or Canberra and will report to the Manager, Government Affairs.

Responsibilities for the role include:

- Develop and maintain effective relationships with government officials, industry association representatives and other relevant external stakeholders
- Develop and execute advocacy and issue management plans to influence policy issues, legislation and regulations affecting Chevron
- Proactively identify, research and analyse emerging and existing policy issues, legislation and regulations affecting Chevron
- Prepare responses and submissions on policy and regulatory issues to government and industry associations
- Provide political context and counsel to the business on policy, legislative and regulatory issues
- Develop and implement legislative and regulatory advocacy processes
- Participate in internal planning and strategy development to provide advice on policy issues, legislation and regulations
