What does a Wastewater Operator do?

Your main objective is keeping the wastewater network running. You will be regularly outdoors, operating, inspecting and maintaining wastewater systems. Please note you will be working with biosolids/biological hazards (sewage).

As a Wastewater Operator, you’re digging trenches, inspecting pipelines, and repairing broken wastewater services. You’re learning a collection of skills that can set you on your way to a technical, management or leadership role.

We have positions available north and south of the river in Perth based out of our depots in Balcatta, Canning Vale and Mandurah.

**What the role will involve**:

- Participate in safe job planning, team meetings and workplace inspections.
- Demonstrate leadership by ensuring that all work is undertaken with safety as the first priority in the provision of a work environment where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety.
- Operate, maintain, monitors and repair water and wastewater assets, operational sites, and public facilities as required.
- Ability to work after hours and participate on a standby roster

**Key skills and experience**:

- Certificate 2 or 3 National Water Package or willingness to work towards
- Able to work in a wastewater environment (sewage)
- Western Australian MR or higher-Class Drivers Licence
- Current Confined Space, Working at Heights, White Card and Gas Test Atmospheres tickets
