**Salary**:Counsellor / Social Worker: between $67,442.00 to 97,709.00 (pro rata) per annum, or Registered Nurse: between $65,692.82 to $92,236.06 (pro rata) per annum

**Position Summary**:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated **Contact Centre Clinician** with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team in the Alcohol and Drug Contact Centre. The Contact Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and operates a number of state-wide telephone and online services for people who use alcohol or other drugs. The successful applicant will be expected to work within a strengths-based and harm-minimisation framework and deliver high quality person-centred drug and alcohol counselling, including bio-psychosocial assessments, evidence-based brief interventions, health education and advice, and referrals to external agencies. - Alcohol and Drug Information Service (including WebChat)
- Opioid Treatment Line
- Stimulant Treatment Line
- ACT Quitline
- 1300DRIVER
- Cannabis Caution
- Western Australia Alcohol and Drug Support Services (overnight only)
- Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service
- SafeScript NSW Clinical Advice Line

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in nursing, counselling, social work, psychology, or a related field and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.

3. Demonstrated relevant clinical alcohol and drug experience including assessment, brief intervention and counselling of clients with substance use problems and co-existing mental health issues.

4.Demonstrated understanding of contemporary approaches to alcohol and drug treatment, including harm reduction, person-centred and strengths-based approaches.

5. Ability to identify clients’ specific needs and provide the appropriate assessments, interventions and approaches for an effective solution.

6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills (including via telephone and typing), including a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.

7. High level computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and previous experience with electronic patient record systems.

8. Highly developed interpersonal skills.
