Mundaring, Australia Tucker Bush Full time

Tucker Bush has an opportunity that would suit an Indigenous trainee to learn about growing, harvesting, and using bushfood plants in our nursery near Mundaring in the Perth Hills.

We will provide training. You will learn to identify and grow Tucker Bush Australian Native bushfood plants (we have Aunty Dale who will provide training too) and possibly assist with our Tucker Bush Schools program down the track (so a Working With Children card will be required in time).

The applicant will need to be quick with using their hands and like working outdoors.

Work involves propagation, potting, weeding harvesting fresh produce, drying Native Herbs etc.

The ideal applicant will need to be interested in cooking with bushfoods and also must be active on social media and have an understanding of post reach and insights.

This position may suit a student wanting casual 2-3 days work or interested in horticulture. (Or for the right person could be full-time work). They must have their own transport and ideally live locally. Preference given to someone wanting to do Cert II/III in Horticulture.

Ultimately (some stage down the track) we would train the person to present Aboriginal culture sessions for our Tucker Bush Schools Program.
