**Dental Assistant Position**

Tweed Family Dental is looking at expanding their team.
- Working hours Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00 (negotiable depending on patients)
- Part-time / Casual
- No weekend work or Public Holidays
- No dental assistant experience required

**The Role**

Tweed Family Dental is looking for a person who is looking for a career in the dental industry. As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for providing not only chair side treatment but aiding clinical staff with a variety of procedures, maintaining a high standard of infection control, sterilization and assisting reception staff. Dental Assistants are valuable members of the dental care team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Greet patients; monitor arrival times; escort patients; monitor patient flow at all times, and prep patients for treatment.
- Responsible to prepare treatment rooms and materials according to policies and procedures; includes sterilisation and disinfection of instruments, set up instrument trays and prepare materials.
- Take and record medical and dental histories.
- Assist Dental Practitioners in management of medical and dental emergencies.
- Record treatment information in patient records.
- Schedule appointments.
- Provide patient instructions and demonstrate when necessary.
- Ensures patient questions/concerns are thoroughly answered prior to patient leaving.
- Documents patient findings in medical record; including service(s) rendered, and entry of the correct service code.
- Postprocedural follow up calls to patient as directed by the Dental Practitioner.
- Assists dentist and all team members.
- Sterilise and disinfect instruments.
- Responsible to ensure dental units are ready, stocked, and clean.
- Reception work where needed
- Taking phone calls and booking appointments.
