The Opportunity
Make your career as a ranger with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, located in Manly on Brisbane's bayside We're looking for a Coxswain with hands-on Ranger skills in busy multi-use marine parks, Moreton Bay Marine Park. One day you'll be educating users of the marine park, the next you are responding to a live marine mammal stranding in a remote location with only vessel access.

A purpose and a challenge that matter
As a Ranger you will contribute to team setting and endeavour to continue the day-to-day management of Moreton Bay Marine Park. Your strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills will help you in assisting with the management of vessel operations. Outdoor duties such as vessel patrols, diving and enforcement operations will be balanced with maintenance, reporting and administrative tasks. Our Rangers in Moreton Bay Marine Park focus their skills locally, but they occasionally assist other management units across the entire length of the Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks Region along with terrestrial parks.
**You'll need**:
- A strong demonstrated understanding of vessel operations and conservation
- A strong understanding of marine operations, conservation, natural values management
- A focus on people including workplace health and safety (both physical and psychological)
- Organisational, change management and teamwork skills
- Compliance and enforcement skills
- Sound knowledge of vessel operation and highly desirable Coxswain NC1 certificate
- Administration, reporting, and computer skills
**To be considered you must**:
- Hold an unrestricted manual driver's license.
