A rewarding opportunity to be an Activity Assistant at our Living Well Centre, located in West Perth, has become available. Within this position, you will be responsible to the Centre Co-ordinator to ensure Centre based programs are delivered to clients using a Wellness and Reablement approach. The Activities Assistant carries out various programs to assist clients to engage with their community including providing/co-ordinating client transport as required.

The successful applicant must be willing to travel to multiple sites and must be **must be available from 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday**. You must hold an F-Class/LR Licence or be willing to achieve this within the first three months of employment.

***Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver programs and activities for clients, ensuring client centered service delivery.
- Assist in meal preparation with clients.
- Undertake efficient and safe client transport using a bus to and from the Centre.
- Maintain a safe environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Bethanie services

**Essential Criteria**:

- Experience in working with individuals, small and large groups
- Knowledge of Community care or wellness and reablement approaches
- Knowledge of needs of older adults, people with dementia and their carers
- Skills in providing client centred, meaningful activities
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to report on service and client care
- Basic computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Current national police clearance
- Current driver’s licence - C and F class
- Current Light Rigid (LR) heavy vehicle class driver's licence or ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment
- Current workplace (Basic) First Aid certificate or ability to obtain one within first 3 months of employment
- Ability to demonstrate safe manual handling practices relating to people and tasks.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Activity Assistant/Therapy Assistant/Aged Care qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of local community services
