**About the organisation**
Of all Australian universities, La Trobe is the most successful at combining accessibility with excellence, having developed a global reputation while expanding to seven campuses across Victoria and New South Wales. The School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences brings together three interconnected discipline areas and hosts a number of research centres. Optus Enterprise has partnered with La Trobe University to support the Digital University of the Future, collectively investing $6.8 million over the next five years to develop a 5G Ideation Lab within the University’s Digital Innovation Hub. The Hub will accelerate the digitisation of healthcare by creating new opportunities to transform the demands and delivery models being placed on Australia’s healthcare system.

**About the role**
In this newly created role, the Chair of Digital Health will establish and lead La Trobe’s research and innovation partnership with Optus, focusing on digital health. As La Trobe already has a strategic focus on, and a strong track record in, health and wellbeing, the Chair will engage and collaborate with colleagues across the University from multi-disciplinary domains. Critical to success in this position will be building and nurturing relationships with external partners across industry, government and health networks in research, innovation and education in digital health.

**About you**
You are a Professor with a computer science, technology or engineering background and a reputation as a highly regarded thought leader in the broad field of digital health. At nationally and internationally distinguished levels, you have led large-scale, innovative, high-quality and high-impact research. Both internally collaborative and externally oriented, you have a track record of fostering relationships and establishing research and innovation linkages and partnerships. You relish the opportunity to lead the establishment of this innovative Lab, focusing on solving the challenges facing healthcare today and into the future.
