**WILD YOUth Adventure Guide & Cultural Mentor**

**About Empower YOUth OoHC Services**:
Empower YOUth OoHC Services is a trauma-informed, youth-focused organisation dedicated to supporting young people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. **About the Role**:
We are seeking individuals—including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Traditional Owners, and anyone passionate about sharing their understanding of Aboriginal culture and land stewardship—to join our WILD YOUth adventure activities and camps as a part-time Adventure Guide & Cultural Mentor. This role is perfect for those who want to make a real difference for young people by sharing knowledge of Country, culture, and nature-based healing.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate and support the WILD program leader with WILD YOUth adventure activities and camps (1-2 days per week, flexible roster)
- Share understanding of Aboriginal culture, history, and land stewardship with young participants and staff
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all, with a strong focus on cultural safety and respect for Country
- Collaborate with the Empower YOUth team to design and deliver meaningful, trauma-informed outdoor experiences
- Contribute to continuous learning and resource development within the team
- Model positive, respectful behaviour and act as a mentor for young people
**Who We’re Looking For**:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Traditional Owners are strongly encouraged to apply
- Individuals with lived experience, cultural knowledge, or a passion for sharing Country and culture
- Confident communicators who can engage with young people from diverse backgrounds
- Team players who are compassionate, reliable, and proactive
- Youth work background or qualification preferred, although comprehensive training and support will be provided for the right person
- Experience in youth work, education, outdoor activities, or community engagement is valued but not required—lived experience and cultural knowledge are equally important
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel to various locations

Pay: $28.96 - $31.50 per hour
