Health Icons is an Australian CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organisation) specialising in nutraceuticals and sports nutrition productions. Our advanced Gold Coast facility integrates automated capsule and gummy production with strict quality systems and regulatory compliance. We are currently seeking an experienced Encapsulation Technician to join our growing production team.

**Role Purpose**

As an experienced Capsule Operator / Encapsulation Operator, you will play a key role in the setup, operation, and maintenance of capsule-filling machinery. You will also assist with ingredient preparation, quality checks, and documentation to support GMP-compliant production of nutraceutical capsules.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Capsule Production Operations**:
Operate and monitor automated capsule-filling equipment; perform machine start-up, shutdown, and in-process checks; carry out routine adjustments and basic troubleshooting.
- **Machine Maintenance & Setup**:
Prepare machines for production runs, assist with format changes and clean-downs, and conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks in collaboration with maintenance staff.
- **Batch Preparation**:
Weigh, stage and blend raw materials according to batch documentation; ensure correct formulation and material traceability.
- **QA/QC Compliance**:
Perform in-process quality checks (weight variation, disintegration, appearance); complete batch records and controlled documents; support CoA verification and sample retention.
- **Sanitation & Line Clearance**:
Clean and sanitize equipment and production areas to meet GMP/HACCP standards; assist with allergen control procedures and environmental monitoring.
- **Inventory & Materials Handling**:
Pick, label and reconcile ingredients; manage capsule shell inventory; assist with intake QA of incoming raw materials and packaging.

**About You**
- Experience in capsule production is essential, with proven ability to operate capsule-filling machinery (e.g., semi-auto or fully automated systems).
- Background in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environments preferred.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, regulated production settings.
- Understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSANZ labelling, and quality assurance processes.
- Physically capable of lifting and standing for extended periods; forklift license desirable.
- Certificate III/IV in Food Processing, or qualifications in Food Science, Nutrition, or Process Engineering will be an advantage.
