**About the Centres**

The YMCA's work in partnership with Council extends to all corners of Merri-bek. We are currently recruiting for Swim Teachers across our Aquatic & Leisure facilities within Merri-bek City Council:

- Brunswick City Baths
- Coburg Leisure Centre
- Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre

**About the role**

Are you 17 - 24 years old?

Enjoy working with kids?

Are passionate about water safety?

Government funded training is available for eligible participants, to work at Brunswick Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre and Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.

For this position you will require:

- Ability to swim 200m of a recognisable stroke.
- A LSV Swim Teacher qualification (provided)
- CPR certificate
- First Aid
- Working With Children Check
- Weekday and Weekend availabilities

As a Swim Teacher, you will be developing and delivering lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school aged children, combining stroke development with water safety and enhancing the overall confidence and ability of your students.
- Structure and design lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
- Recommend students for level progression as appropriate
- Teach and model effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills

This is a casual position and the hourly rate is $29.44 per hour + super.

**About you**

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher

**Essential Qualifications**
- CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain before commencing)
- Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain before commencing)

**Other Desired Qualifications**
- Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
- Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
- Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
- Teacher of Adults
