About the role
This newly created position reports directly to the Sustainability Manager and requires someone who enjoys delivering and seeking out solutions. No two days will be the same, offering lots of great challenges to enable you to make your mark on our growing operation.
The Superintendent provides leadership and direction engaging with all levels of the operations within the areas of safety, health and hygiene, injury management, security, and emergency response. The key focus is to provide expert advice in relation to legal obligations, policies, and procedures.
There will also be full responsibility for the development and continuous improvement of both the Injury Management and Health & Hygiene Management Plan.
Success will initially be measured on the review and development of KPI’s for the Health and Safety team, integrating with the site operations and attending operational meetings, and ensuring there is a clear understanding of service level agreements. Weekly and monthly reporting of site safety statistics and assisting with the annual budgeting is also expected.
The position will be on an 8:6 (12-hour day) roster, FIFO from Perth or based residentially. About you
Recent experience managing and developing a team
Minium of a Tertiary Qualification within WHS
Certificate IV in Environmental Management and Sustainability (or equivalent, desired)
Certificate IV Training and Assessment (desired)
Knowledge and understanding of operational mining, processing and exploration processes and requirements.
A high level of strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and collaboration skills
