**The Role - Payroll Officer**
- We are seeking an experienced and professional payroll officer to join our dedicated team. This role is fundamental in managing all aspects of our payroll procedures._

This is a permanent full-time position, 5 days a week at our Head Office in Crows Nest.

**Your duties will include but not be limited to**_:_**
- Process end-to-end payroll fortnightly for up to 150 employees with precision and meeting timeframes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws, regulations and employee awards.
- Interpreting Awards (Children’s Services Award and Educational Services (Teachers) Award) and employment law correctly
- Performing full function payroll tasks including on-boarding, variations/transfers, CPI increment increases, offboarding and reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations while staying up to date with any changes that may impact payroll procedures
- Calculate wages, bonuses, and deductions accurately, including taxes, superannuation payments, employee benefits, workers compensation and retirement contributions, wage garnishments, and payroll adjustments and backpay
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll enquiries, making yourself available for payroll query resolution as required;
- Assist with projects and other payroll-related tasks as directed by the Financial Controller.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist that involved processing high-volume end-to-end full function payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience with payroll and time and attendance systems (Xero, Employment Hero and Erly are desirable).
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft suite and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity & confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
