Canberra, Australia Department of Employment and Workplace Relations Full time

APS Level 6
- Canberra, ACT
- $94,332 - $103,731

**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**
We support people to have safe, secure and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future.
The Software Licensing Team sits within the IT Workplace, Environment and Customer Support Branch within the Technology and Services Division (TSD). The team manages the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) and client agencies software licenses, administering licences for software installed on the department’s IT network.

As part of the Software Licensing Team, your role will be to assist in assessing and managing a broad range of software licenses, as well as monitoring and reporting on license entitlements, usage, and deployments. Additionally, you will be required to provide support with the purchase of new software, maintenance renewals, software compliance audits, and issue resolution.

**The Role**
Reporting to the Software Licensing Team Manager, the Software Licensing Team Leader is required to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including vendors, client agencies and various teams across the department.

Currently TSD provide IT related services to other departments across the APS who utilise the DEWR IT network. To ensure the successful delivery of these services you will also need advanced stakeholder management experience and the ability to think strategically, with a focus on creating and supporting productive internal and external working relationships.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 may include:

- Drive strategic improvement of Software Asset Management processes, tools and governance;
- Leverage the various software and license management tools used by the Software Licensing Team to produce reports (regularly or on request) and communicate results and recommendations to management.
- Ensure license entitlements and software usage data is maintained in the existing software asset management tool;
- Provide recommendations by working closely with key stakeholders on how to license, reconcile, re-harvest, transfer and document licensing entitlements to drive savings opportunities;
- Assist in the development and execution of processes to support software compliance for regulatory, vendor audits, and internal auditing compliance efforts.

**How to Apply**
Applicants are required to provide up to a one-page summary (no more than 500 words) that outlines skills, knowledge, and experience and why you should be considered for this vacancy. You should take into consideration the position overview (including any detailed position specific requirements) when drafting your response. Where possible include specific relevant examples of your work.

The APS work level standards accommodate the diversity of roles across the APS and are structured to clearly differentiate between the work expected (i.e. responsibilities and duties) at each classification level.

In the eRecruit (the department’s online recruitment system) you will also need to:

- upload a Curriculum Vitae
- provide contact details for 2 Referees.

**Eligibility**

**Citizenship** - to be eligible for employment with the Department, you must be an Australian Citizen or, in limited circumstances, in the process of obtaining it.
