**Experienced Paralegal - Join our Team**

A rare opportunity available in late May for an experienced Paralegal to join our friendly team. We are based in the Hunter Region, 5 mins off the M1.

**Location**: Thornton, based in Newcastle/Hunter Region - great work / life balance and lifestyle

**Hours**: This is negotiable and flexible. The role is Monday to Friday with negotiable hours and start/finish times. The role requires a minimum of 28 hrs p/wk or can be fulltime at 38hrs p/wk.

**Salary**: $68,000 - $75,000 **plus superannuation**. Full time equivalent (prorated) commensurate with experience.

**About You**

We are looking for an experienced paralegal with a high level of initiative and keen attention to detail. You thrive in a positive and down-to-earth team and enjoy being efficient and proactive. You have a solution orientation approach and appreciate a supportive team and also an autonomous work environment.

You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of paralegal / legal secretary work with experience in general litigation. Ideally you have experience in Local Government and the Land and Environment Court but this is not crucial. You have strong written and verbal communication and can prioritise and multitask to support team efficiencies and meet deadlines. You are proficient in Microsoft Office suite and have experience with LEAP or similar software. An understanding of accounts is desirable.

**About the role**

The Paralegal position is a key support role in the firm. You will be working with an Administration Assistant and reporting to the Directors. The main duties include:

- Diary management, booking of travel, accommodation and seminars
- Drafting correspondence and documents
- Preparing court books and tender bundles
- Preparing matters for conferences and hearings
- Compiling briefs for barristers
- Filing of documentation through court portals
- Preparing tender documentation and lodging tenders through portals
- Monitoring critical dates to ensure deadlines are met.
- Management of established website and LinkedIn
