Who are we?

LSV is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation and is committed to its mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. LSV is a recognised agency of Emergency Management Victoria and provides emergency response services across the state through its vast network of lifesaving clubs, lifeguards, marine and aerial rescue services. LSV is a Registered Training Organisation and a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

How will this position contribute to Life Saving Victoria’s mission?

The manager - media and communication is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of a range of public relations and promotional activities to both internal and external stakeholders, in support of LSV’s strategic goals and its role as an emergency service.

Open to either full-time or part-time applicants, the initial contract will be for a fixed-term period of 12 months, with possible extension. In return Life Saving Victoria will provide a great work environment, variety, employee benefits including onsite gym, salary packaging, and great office amenities and facilities.

The role will be based in Port Melbourne, with the ability to work from regional offices including Carrum Downs and Geelong with hybrid options available.

Who are you?

This position would ideally suit an experienced media and communication professional with experience in media issues management, managing communication projects and leading people to deliver proactive and reactive media activities. You will be able to confidently develop and deliver a range of media, communication, PR and promotional services and strategies. Experience in media liaison and reactive media management, corporate and crisis communication, social and digital media and government liaison are essential. You will have a track record of success and some understanding of not for profit, emergency service and/or community-based organisations viewed favourably.
