**ABOUT THE POSITION.**
As a Recreational and Open Space Planner, join a Western Sydney Council's team on a contract position with exposure for potential growth and a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent position. Work in collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders. 35-hour week with flexible start and finish times. Continually grow professional relationships within Council and play a vital role in strategically managing the outcome of your projects.
**DUTIES.**
- Prepare planning for recreation and open space projects through consultation, research, data analysis and strategy development
- Create programs and strategies in response to community priorities
- Develop strategic and operational plans such as masterplans, plans of management and other planning reports
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.**
- Degree in Urban Planning or other relevant qualifications
- Previous experience working within Local Government is highly desirable
- Prior experience within the Recreation and Open Space planning industry is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as time management skills
