**Your new company**
This multi-location department across Canberra and Australia, this Government Agency is responsible for supporting a better life for thousands of Australians and their families. Due to new government funding, this centralised office in the heart of Canberra, has the opportunity for an EL1 Economist to join this high performing team and office to help move the department to support more and more Australians.

**Your new role**

Team leadership is your bread and butter. In this role you will have the authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a varying range of activities. You will be responsible for a team of contractors and all that this is incorporated with this including, performance management, resource management and decision making around team membership. Not only this you will also be:

- Contributing the an annual price review by analysing data, public submissions, working group consultations and broader market impact to inform policy development
- Project Managing the development of key projects with internal and eternal stakeholders
- Providing direction regarding data scope, analysis, quality assurance and visualisation for pricing and costing policy reports.

As you will be engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, well-developed communication skills with the ability to foster professional relationships whilst building rapport and trust is a must.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Your experience in leading teams will be crucial for your success. Your knowledge around projects and policy development will be highly utilised and will give you the ability to be challenged in this position. Your ability to negotiate effectively by listening to differing views to develop an idea of an issue and then develop persuasive responses will really let you thrive in this environment. To further support your position you will have:

- The Ability to provide direction regarding data scope, analysis, quality assurance and visualisation for pricing and costing policy reports
- The Ability to clearly articulate evidence based pricing decisions for participants and providers through the annual pricing review report
- Expereince in project management of external consultants by determining research scope

This client requires the applicant to be an Australian Citizen, and be able to complete the departments pre-engagement screening checks.
