Our team at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre are always on the lookout for new talent to join the lifeguard team on a casual basis.

In this role, your primary focus is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons whilst in the Aquatic Centre, including providing first aid and resuscitation when necessary. You will have a clear understanding and ability to deliver excellent customer service, and will perform a range of other tasks including general cleaning as required.

**Our ideal Lifeguard**

Being a great lifeguard is not about having the most rescues under your belt, rather it is about being proactive and preventing risk and harm before it happens. We are looking for both new and experienced lifeguards to help us provide a safe and fun environment for the members of our community.

We are looking for someone with an adaptable customer service manner, who is able to educate the public about water safety, and be a friendly face that our patrons of all ages and backgrounds feel safely approaching when in need of assistance.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Be 16 years of age or over
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to effectively liaise and engage with a diverse range of customers
- A Pool Lifeguard Award
- A Senior First Aid Certificate
- Experience in an aquatic environment is desirable however, we also encourage new pool lifeguards to apply

Customer service in lifeguarding is about being able to read people, communicate effectively, while being proactive and preventing harm, and education. As I've moved on to my full-time career (and lifeguard on weekends), these skills I've learnt growing up with my Aquatic Centre family have helped me be the person I'm proud of today. **Schedule**
- Weekdays: Shifts between 5.30am - 10.30pm available
- Weekends: Shifts between 6.30am - 10.30pm available
- Centre operates 364 days a year
