**About the Centre/Service**

Ferntree Gully 3 Year Old Preschool is a community-based, not-for-profit kindergarten service, operated by a parent/guardian Committee of Management. Ferntree Gully Preschool in currently in the process of expanding and taking on a 4 year old group for 2025. Our preschool is passionate about creating strong partnerships with families and the wider community. We pride ourselves on our play based learning environment, delivering a quality program incorporating the Reggio Emilia approach towards learning through play. We use open ended resources that allow children to connect to nature, encourage inquiry and inspire their imagination. Our large beautiful tree-filled yard encourages a passion for nature and sustainability. We believe children need to develop a love of nature and the outdoors in order to develop an appreciation for the environment. We are fully inclusive and provide our children with flexible routines to encourage and support deeper thinking, investigation and foster independence.

**Description**
- Join our vibrant team at Ferntree Gully Preschool as a passionate and experienced 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Teacher and Educational Leader. We’re seeking an enthusiastic Teacher who embraces a child-led philosophy and is committed to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our dedicated 3-Year-Old Teacher and fellow educators, guiding and mentoring them to enhance our preschool community. Your expertise will help shape our curriculum, ensuring that every child’s unique interests and strengths are celebrated. - Develop and provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate educational program (based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework) for the children at Ferntree Gully Preschool.
- Have knowledge of the National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Have a capacity to undertake and be committed to our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Provide educational leadership while working as a member of a collaborative preschool team.
- Always operate in a professional manner and ensure that the preschool meets the requirements of the _Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) Victorian kindergarten policy, procedures and funding criteria; Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010; Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011_and functions in line with approved policies, procedures and the Quality Improvement Plan of Ferntree Gully Preschool.

**Duties**:

- Be responsible to the committee of management (employer) for the development and delivery of the programs for which they are responsible.
- Undertake all responsibilities and activities associated with being the nominated **Educational Leader** for the preschool
- Operate within the requirements of the preschool’s policies and procedures, as well as funding and regulatory requirements and the budget allocation.
- Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service.
- Encourage enrolments and provide relevant written information and referrals in accordance with the enrolment policy and procedures.
- Other duties as directed by the Committee of Management from time-to-time.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service through reflective practice.
- Coordinate meetings and processes, involving all educational staff, to design and deliver a high quality and diverse educational program based on appropriate curriculum frameworks and with reference to the NQS.
