**KEY**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Planning, controlling and continually improving WHSE and Quality within the company to achieve WHSE performance targets
- Providing leadership and promoting positive safety culture
- Mitigating operational risks and optimise opportunities through IMS audit processes and procedures
- Striving to exceed industry benchmarks with regards to quality standards
- Provide leadership and constantly improve on employee and contractor attitudes towards safety
- Strive to eliminate injuries and incidents on projects across the business
- Ensure there is full compliance to the WHSE sections of the PMP and company WHSE policies and procedures
- Development and achievement of company WHSE key performance indicators/targets
- Strict compliance with legal obligations under relevant Acts, Regs and CoPs
- Any incident/accident investigations are managed and closed out in a timely manner
- Provide input into cost assessments where relevant
- Maintain and monitor compliance of all WHSE systems
- Coordinate and conduct project audits and ensure actions and non-conformance resulting from an audit are closed out within timelines
- Encourage and support staff and subcontractors to be actively involved in and show leadership of a positive safety culture
- Develop and coordinate training and development outcomes within the business and participate in the development and implementation of group learning and development activities
- Assist in ensuring HSR reps are properly trained and involved in their duties
- All project staff are properly inducted and trained in line with their occupation
- Strict compliance with IR and training sections of the PMP
- Coordinate WHSE meetings regularly, as required by the business Ensure all projects undertake their own project safety meetings
- Meet and exceed client expectations to build positive relationships based on the companies safety culture and systems

**KEY**
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Must have Tertiary Education within Safety, preferably a Degree in Safety or at least a Diploma in Safety Management
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in a similar role working on or for Tier 2/1 builders within construction
- Strong understanding of the construction process on large new build construction projects
- License and car is a must
- Be willing to champion this important aspect of the business from planning in the office to execution on site
- Understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice and standards
- Ongoing training and upskilling will be provided
