Mandatory Requirements
- Possession of a degree in either Social Science, Human Services, Psychology or Social Work. Post graduate studies in related content is highly desirable
- Full vaccination for COVID-19 is a requirement for this role
- Ability to undertake travel within the region is also a requirement and possession of a current 'C' class driver's licence
- Possession of or the ability to obtain Blue Card (Working with Children)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert child protection advice and guidance to the Family and Child Connect, IFS and government and non-government organisations in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, statutory responsibilities, departmental objectives and current trends
- Provide a case consultation service to the community services on complex cases and ensure cases that may require statutory intervention are referred to Child Safety when necessary, including oversight of referral quality
- Build the child protection expertise of community services and other agencies through training and professional development initiatives
- Support the implementation of the Queensland Child Protection Guide and act as an agent of change through the provision of training and education (and/or training and education resources) and expert child protection advice to schools, police and health professionals
- Perform a cross sector co-ordination role, to enhance the working relationships between Child Safety and other government and non-government organisations to promote better collaboration
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other government and non-government agencies, acting as a representative of Child Safety
