**The role**
The **Planning Policy Officer** develops, delivers and evaluates planning and policy projects with the support of managers. This includes the facilitation of policy initiatives and reforms that contribute to the Department’s planned outcomes and broader Government planning system objectives.
You will play a crucial role in shaping land use planning policies that addresses strategic conservation for better biodiversity outcomes. This involves conducting research, analysing policy impacts, and preparing reports to inform policy development. Collaborating with various stakeholders will be key to ensuring that the policies you help develop are effective and well-supported.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth research and analysis to support policy and program development.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex information into clear and actionable policy recommendations.
- Demonstrated understanding of NSW government processes and policy making
- Proficiency in tools for spatial data analysis, automation, and visualisation.
**What is an essential requirement**
- Tertiary qualification in public policy, planning, law, economics, ecology, geographical information systems or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
