Our team is looking for a positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated Exercise Physiologist to provide exercise physiology services to our NDIS participants at our clinics in Sydney Olympic Park and Blacktown, and a few mobile services to participants in and around the Homebush, Parramatta, Hills and Blacktown regions.

Since 2016, Step Up has provided Adaptive Physical Education (APE) and Physical and Social Activity Group Programs to people with special needs and has expanded to an Allied Health Service, Exercise Physiology. We aim to encourage, motivate and consistently support individuals’ disabilities through high-quality health care services, professional advice, and expertise. Our main clientele is individuals with intellectual disabilities such as autism, down syndrome and developmental delays.

**About the Role**

**In the first 2~6 months**: To build experience and strategies about our participants’ conditions and behaviours, you will be working as an Adapted Physical Education Coach for Physical and Social Activity Group Programs. During this period, you are required to provide 1:1 or 1:2 support in a group setting as well as transport supports using your own vehicle. During this period, you will work as a Casual Employee.

**After 2~6 months**: As you have gained experience and strategies, you will work as an Exercise Physiologist and you will be responsible for providing appropriate interventions such as exercise prescription, lifestyle modification, pain management, and education at various settings, including local community centres, homes, local gyms, pools, and workplaces. As you start to work as an Exercise Physiologist, you will convert into the part-time employment and there will be a potential to progress into a full-time employment any time if your work ability, performance, participant numbers improve in the future.

**Hours**

Part-time (25~35hrs p.w.)

Full-time (38 hours p.w)

**Salary**

Part-time $50,000~$70,000 per year

Full-time $72,000~$80,000 per year

**Locations**

**In the first 2~6 months (Physical and Social Activity Group Programs)**
- Parks and Facilities in Sydney Olympic Park, Hills and Blacktown regions

**After 2~6 months (Exercise Physiology)**
- Clinic in Sydney Olympic Park
- Hall Clinics in Blacktown
- A few Mobile services (Homebush, Parramatta, Hills and Blacktown regions)

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Conduct initial assessments and deliver tailored exercise prescriptions in the clinical and mobile home-visit setting.
- Provide appropriate education, lifestyle modification and behaviour change programs for participants, staff and support workers as required.
- Communicating and working efficiently and collaboratively with the team to ensure optimal outcomes for our clients
- Actively assisting Step Up promotion through social media, events, outreach, etc.

**Essential Selection Criteria**:

- One to five years of experience in working as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist
- One to five years of experience in working with NDIS participants or children
- Excellent independent skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- Consistent and stable with the level of the services and attendance
- Hold a current P2 or Full License with your vehicle
- Outstanding administration and computer skills

**Required Certificates for this role**:

- Full working rights in Australia
- Bachelor or Master of Exercise Physiology (University Degree)
- ESSA Accreditation (renew every year)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (upon joining)
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate - Online Course (upon joining)
- NDIS Effective Communication Certificate - Online Course (upon joining)
- Disability (Autism) Module Certificates - Online Course (upon joining)
- COVID-19 Infection Control Module - Online Course (upon joining)
