**Role Overview**
This growing business is currently looking for a Principal Land Use Planner to join their vibrant team.

The position involves managing a diverse portfolio of 20-25 projects, with approximately 30 client interactions. Although this role does not entail direct supervision of staff, it involves supporting the director in overseeing senior land use planners, coordinating with subcontractors and consultants, and completing Development Applications for various industries such as irrigated agricultural development, industry, natural resources, residential, commercial, and government projects.

Working predominantly in the office this position allows you to work directly with a small dynamic team who are looking for the next motivated individual to champion this position and become a valued member of their successful organisation.

**The Person**
To excel in this position, it is essential to demonstrate a strong passion, drive, and a sense of responsibility for project outcomes. Additionally, possessing excellent problem-solving and research abilities, along with the capacity to cultivate relationships and generate new business opportunities.
Possess experience in consultancy and generating new business through leveraging existing and developing new relationships. Take charge of leading and advancing the project.
Engage in effective communication with stakeholders and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while measuring efficiency and managing write-on and write-off activities.

**The 'Ideal' person will have:
- Possess formal qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in Land Use Planning in Australia
- Have experience and understanding of planning-related services and statutory project approvals at the local, state, and federal levels
- Showcase experience and proficiency in managing and being involved in various projects
- Exhibit proven highly effective communication skills with both internal and external clients
- Ability to regularly assess internal and external client needs and identify opportunities for service improvement
- Quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of a wide range of statutory functions to provide exceptional customer service
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft packages, including MS project, PM tools, GIS or CAD would be ideal
- Established networks within the NSW and/or Victorian Planning sectors
- Ability to regularly evaluate internal and external client needs and identify opportunities for service improvement
- Ability to deliver high quality customer service to clients
- Demonstrated experience in the development and nurture of relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and understanding of a wide range statutory and non-statutory functions to allow a high level of customer service provision
- High level mentoring skills
- High level computer skills including experience in project management software for tracking engagements and ensuring their timely delivery

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide planning and administrative support for the project base
- Assist the Director in mentoring and professional development of the Land Use Planning team
- Build the clients profile through industry representation and engagement
- Provide advice and liaison with clients
- Manage filing and administrative processes for consultancy and project management
- Handle telephone enquiries
- Assist with office enquiries
- Write reports as needed

**Accountability**
- Conduct annual performance reviews to establish goals for the specified period, aligning with the clients policy
- Attain efficiency targets and meet write on/write off objectives
- Consistently deliver tasks within specified timeframes
- Adhere to the Company Policies and Processes
- Comply with quality assurance standards, the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, relevant regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
