Head of Legal and Compliance opportunity with Global Captive -Auto Finance Company

With a proven track record of success across multiple countries, they now have their sights set to expand its global presence even further by establishing a subsidiary in Australia.

**Your new role**

Our client is seeking a standout Head of Legal and Compliance to join the company during the organisation’s foundational stages. Backed by the funding and resources of an established global company, you will lead, design and implement an effective legal and compliance management system that is tailored to the business in order to meet regulatory requirements. You will oversee the testing and monitoring of the compliance control function and the team that procures and maintains the company's business licences and provide strategic legal advice to leadership to ensure that company objectives are achieved within the law and consistent with business objectives.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- 10+ years’ PAE in financial services (combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred), including management of compliance function, and line management responsibility.
- Captive-auto finance experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Australian laws and regulations governing compliance and privacy in financial services
- Strong ability to function as a Business Partner and balance varying perspectives and points of view
- Skilled in development of policies, procedures, training methods and materials
- Excellent communication skills; ability to interface with legal counsel and business groups at all levels of the organisation
- Strong problem solver; excellent project management skills; attention to detail
- Effective leadership, management and advocacy skills
