**Role Description/Criteria**

Are you enthusiastic about promoting awareness and supporting students with special needs in the College? We're excited to announce the opening of Learning Support Coordinator position starting in January 2025.

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with the Learning Leader (EAL) in order to support students
- Provide leadership and support to the Learning Support Officers who assist students with special needs
- Work with members of teaching staff to make learning adjustments and / or modifications for students as required.
- Assist in the collection and recording of data within the NCCD process
- Provide resources and strategies to teachers to assist in their planning for students with special needs, including the development of Personalised Learning Plans
- Offer appropriate curriculum programs to suit the learning styles of students with special needs.
- Support teachers with the provision of accurate information and effective strategies to address students with individual needs
- Work in association with the Curriculum Leaders, Learning Leaders, year level leaders and wellbeing team in the provision of special programs and/or strategies

**Requirements**:

- Committed to the values and ethos of Catholic education
- Successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated the capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Details of recent post graduate study and/or immediate intentions for future study
- Demonstrated ability to foster and develop appropriate relationships with the staff, students, parents and the wider community
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with teams within the school
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support the educative programs of the school.
- highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds
- sound organisational and administrative skills
- ability to work collaboratively and facilitate dynamic teamwork
- proven capacity to work independently and effectively in the face of changing priorities, deadlines and pressure
- commitment to ongoing professional learning

**Position Classification**:

- Position: Learning Support Coordinator - POL 2
- Remuneration: As per VCEMEA
- Time Allowance: 9 x 50-minute lessons per cycle plus additional AOR Release
- Tenure: 2025 - 2027
- Review: Annual reviews based on self and peer appraisal and goal setting.
