**Technical Writers**: If you are looking to work on leading edge Defence projects and develop your technical writing skills, we’d love to hear from you We have multiple opportunities to join our growing Defence team. Open to full-time & part-time working.
**About the opportunity**:
Reporting to the Team Lead, you will work in a team to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products and customer projects. You will join a team who work collaboratively with developers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use.
In addition to working at our customer site at Edinburgh 4 days per week, you have the option to work from home or from our office in the Adelaide CBD for 1 day per week. We encourage flexible working and are open to part-time arrangements.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the software and the documentation requirements
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards, style guides and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Write easy-to-understand online help and developer guides
- Enhancing existing information architectures to be more interactive and digitally friendly
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Working experience in technical writing related to software documentation
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Excellent written skills in plain English
- Working knowledge of content management systems (e.g Atlassian Confluence) or Markdown
- Initiative and a desire to challenge yourself and continuously improve
While not essential, knowledge of any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Basic familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle
- Higher education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

**Special conditions**:
As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance to NV1 level.
