**About the Assignment**

The primary objective of this position is to provide technical support across all aspects of Santos marine operations, optimising risk and value to contribute to Santos’ competitive advantage and meet the overall business objectives.

You will work with various internal stakeholders and marine contractors to ensure marine operations are performed safely and efficiently while achieving expected outcomes.

You will provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders to ensure marine operations are planned and executed in compliance with Company Standards and are aligned with industry best practice.

**This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod. Location for this assignment can be Perth or Darwin, working full-time office hours with some requirement for travel.**

**Role Specific Accountabilities**:

- Perform tanker vetting and Ship-Shore compatibility assessment of the vessels calling at Santos facilities, as required.
- Contribute to the business needs in ensuring compatibility and compliance of chartered vessels through vetting and/or marine assurance activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vessel operators relevant to the contract/s responsible.
- Support Santos chartered vessels during charter period. This may include focal point duties with regulators and onboarding, induction of crews and supporting projects for marine related works.
- Provide technical assistance related to shipping matters in ports and terminals within which Santos operates a marine terminal.
- Prepare, review and implement work procedures for terminal operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with port authorities and other external stakeholders for the benefit of Santos.
- Provide marine SME material to all quality control and assurance for marine equipment at Santos ports and facilities.
- Act as Flag State and Class focal point for Santos owned marine assets.
- Act as CSO and Designated Person for Santos owned marine assets.
- Coordinate resources and activities in preparation for offtakes at Santos ports and offshore facilities.
- Assist and advise commercial and demurrage claims which may arise.
- Prepare shipping documents relating to offtake operation.

**Other Tasks include**:

- Participate in marine related incident investigation, as and when required.
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.

**About You**
- Full working rights to live and work in Australia - Essential
- Engineering / Technical Degree or Technical Qualification
- Experience as senior officer on board offshore support vessels
- Knowledge of ship chartering and contracting.
- Experience as senior officer on international trading ships.
- Understanding of offshore marine operations.
- Thorough and working knowledge of current international and domestic maritime regulations and issues.

Desired experience for this position includes:

- Experience on board FPSO, FSO, tankers or offshore support vessels.
- Experience in managing contracts
- Experience as offtake coordinator
- Experience as Designated Person, CSO or SSO.
