UGL's Transport & Technology business has an opportunity for experienced
**Logistic Officer** based at either our operation in North Sydney or Broadmeadow, NSW.
**About the role**
- As the Logistics Officer you will provide coordination and support within the Commercial, Procurement and Logistics team to sites warehouse and logistics team nationally/internationally. The role specifically provides direct support and governance to UGL sites in Newcastle (NSW), Spotswood (VIC), Bassendean (WA) and others as required.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**
- Ensure an active approach to all site safety policies and contribute to their development
- Coordinate with freight forwarders on shipping, including documentation, collection, and delivery requirements
- Provide inbound scheduling and process inbound and customs documentation for warehouses nationally
- Liaising with warehouses on inbound deliveries and providing export documents for return logistics materials
- Processing, tracking and providing reports on the status of, shipping and return logistics materials
- Provide analysis and reporting for warehouse & logistics KPI’s including status and performance reporting for logistics and distribution activities
- Process as required logistics scheduling and specific solution quotations
- Run Request for Quotation tenders for various project requirements
- Process as required, expediting of materials to meet build, maintenance, and external customer needs
- Provide communication and consultation where required for internal and external customers
- Provide communication and consultation where required for relevant suppliers and freight forwarders
- Assist Logistics Manager with the documentation of process and policy
- Contribute to solutions that drive distribution improvement initiatives to achieve improved safety and operational performance and reduce cost
- Champion cost saving initiatives, tracking, and reporting
- Process, track and reporting the status of Non-conformances within the logistics envelope
- Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements
- Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Logistics Manager
**Qualification and Key Requirements**
- Extensive experience working in a National Logistics or Distribution Co-ordination/ analyst role
- Experience liaising with and influencing suppliers, 3PL, shipping agents & freight providers
- Ability to coordinate with cross site, multi-functional teams
- Thorough understanding of warehousing and logistics concepts
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Proficient to Intermediate Excel experience
- SAP operational experience (desirable)
- Tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, engineering, or project management
- Strong systems and information management skills
- Proactive and forthright in resolving and correcting root cause issues
