SC4 Demonstrated ability to provide information, advice and support to teachers and families responsible for the management of students experiencing challenges that are impacting on their learning outcomes.

SC5 Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, as part of a team and network with the wide range of people within the education and wider community.

**Role**:
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

**Responsibilities**:
**The Student Wellbeing Coordinator will work as a member of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Team (SEWT) to plan, implement and review the engagement and wellbeing areas of the Annual Implementation Plan.**

The Student Wellbeing Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

- work alongside Homegroup Teachers, Year Level Coordinators to gauge the needs of all students at the campus
- work as part of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Team (SEWT) to provide feedback and resources for the Homegroup program so we can be proactive in addressing student needs
- work alongside the Wellbeing Team to allocate student referrals in an appropriate way, so that all needs can be met
- undertake the required DET steps to manage and report incidents - i.e. student sexual offending, domestic violence - and support others to do so
- initiate, explore and secure alternate temporary or longer-term education settings for students, as needed
- work with Inclusive Education Coordinator and Year Level Coordinators to ensure Individual Education Plan (IEP)s, for students with a mental health diagnosis or similar, are developed and implemented
- work with the SEW team to ensure IEPs are developed and implemented for Koorie students and all other students for which IEPs are mandatory, including students in Out of Home Care (OoHC)
- support Inclusive Education Coordinators and Year Level Coordinators at student support group (SSG) meetings as appropriate
- work with Inclusive Education Coordinators and Curriculum Leader to lead Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority VCAA Special Provision for students, as required, and 'special provision¿ for Year 9-11 students as appropriate
- liaise with DET SSS team to engage appropriate support for our students and to address mandatory and legal obligations, i.e. under the Equal Opportunity Act 202, Disability Discrimination Act and Disability Standards for Education
- Providing counselling and guidance to students, who may be self-referred, Year Level Coordinator referred, or parent referred. Cases requiring professional counselling or treatment should be referred to an appropriate agency with prior agreement of the student and parent.
- Providing referrals to external agencies and services as necessary and with the student and parent¿s knowledge and consent.
- Arranging meetings of relevant teachers and liaising with external providers to plan and implement strategies to resolve identified problems
- Providing appropriate staff with information relevant and necessary to ensure the wellbeing and education of students experiencing difficulties
- Working with staff to develop positive College programs to foster the wellbeing of all students
