Assistant Supervisor

**About Us**

Our mixed farming Enterprise is an Adelaide Plains rural property of almost 5,000 acres, located 30 minutes from the CBD. Based to the west of Two Wells, it is mostly utilised for cropping and livestock grazing, as well as incorporating a 250-acre Olive Grove (comprised of 12,500 olive trees); for which the majority of the tasks for this position are related.

**About the Role**

Reporting to and assisting the Supervisor your key responsibilities will include:
**Olive Grove Duties**

Watering of Olive trees through a poly-pipe Irrigation system, attending to any blockages and repairs required to all Irrigation lines
- Maintenance of water quality and water levels in the main Dam (used to store water for the Olive Grove)
- Operation of pumps and motors associated with the Irrigation system, liaising with contractors for any repairs and maintenance
- Slashing, mowing and discing of weeds; as required
- Fertilising and spraying trees
- Maintenance of appropriate fuel stocks for use in running the motor for the Irrigation system and for farm vehicles, including tractors and other equipment
- Working with contractors to complete the tasks of; Olive Harvesting, Processing of Olives and Pruning

**Other Farm Duties**
- Ensuring all Farm Plant and Equipment is kept well maintained and regularly serviced; liaising with external contractors and other businesses to perform this work, as required
- Maintenance, repair and tidiness of the Farm property, including;
- Eradication of pests and vermin, as appropriate
- Equipment and any other items in all sheds are kept clean and in order; with dust, pigeon droppings etc. minimised and removed from all sheds
- Weeds throughout the property are minimised and dealt with appropriately, ensuring the Farm is free of any noxious weeds
- Regular review and maintenance of all farm fencing
- Other farm-related tasks, as required

**About You**

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Previous Farm working experience (minimum of 24 months desirable), with experience working in an Olive Grove preferred
- Knowledge of the operation of Farm machinery and equipment, with the ability to assist in discerning problems or issues, if required
- Experience with and ability to drive Tractors
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time well
- Full driver's license (for Car/Ute)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug screening

**What’s on offer?**
- The position can be either part-time, casual or contract in this position (Monday to Friday)
- 30 hours per week (Flexible working hours)
- Company ute available for work purposes

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 per week
