**ABOUT** **OUR PERTH OFFICE**

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, External Affairs, Sustainability Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Legal and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The role of **Principal Long Term Mine Planning** will be responsible for developing robust optimised long-term mine plans for South32’s Worsley’s mining operations.

Reporting to the Manager Mine Planning, key responsibilities include:

- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment, and sustainable development
- Development of optimised and sustainable long-term mine plans and production schedules
- Providing specialist mine planning advice and execute operation-specific tasks related to the development and delivery of long term mine plans
- Interacting with various stakeholders to ensure the quality, alignment and understanding of long term mine plans
- Develop JORC compliant Reserve statements for Worsley including associated internal and external documentation

**ABOUT YOU**

You will ideally have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

- Demonstrated experience across a range of mine planning functions (optimisation, mine design, production scheduling, capital infrastructure design, cost analysis and forecasting, etc)
- High level of competency in mine planning software applicable to optimising and scheduling complex surface mining operations
- Ability to think critically, analyse problems and provide solutions in a complex mine planning environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively and influence key stakeholder groups including functions, operations, and senior leadership
- Registered as a professional with an affiliated association as required by JORC

Qualifications for this position are:

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining) with a minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
