The Surf Shuttle (TSS) is all about ocean opportunity. Our mission is to provide all kids who love surfing, with the opportunity to access the ocean and the therapeutic benefits it offers, through convenience, fun and safety.

The TSS team have been achieving this for the past 3 years by providing transport solutions, surf guidance, and recreational surf sessions for groms, before school, afterschool and throughout school holidays.

TSS is looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable Lead Surf Facilitator to jump aboard and contribute to our mission.

**A day to day nutshell of the role.**

Transportation of 4-6 kids to the beach, using your expertise to navigate where would have the best conditions on the day, and conducting safe, fun and therapeutic surf sessions for kids. We value mental health and want to ensure kids who love surfing have access to the ocean and the mental and physical benefits it has to offer.

In addition, the lead surf facilitator will provide private surf and nature therapy sessions for adult clients who are on the spectrum or have a mental health challenge. All our disability clients are competent swimmers.

Location: Work is on the lower North Shore and Northern Beaches (odd shift in the Eastern Suburbs and Upper Northern Beaches at times).

Experienced surf skills and ocean knowledge to guide surf sessions

Experience working with children and individuals with a disability

A natural desire to help others and be a role model/mentor

A willingness and desire to take on responsibility, promote our service and offer value.

Strong communication skills to liase with kids, clients and management both in person and via phone. Transparency and trust is a key value of ours.

The ability to use initiative, work independently and problem solve (no session is the same with various logistics).

An encouraging, positive and assertive personality to ensure fun yet safe sessions

A love for early starts (we are all about sunrise surfs and winning the morning)

**Credentials required**

Current working with children check

First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain

Green P or full car license as well as a clean driving record.

Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance or willingness to obtain (at least 5 seats). A van will also be provided.

**Desired but not needed**.

Surf instructor accreditation

Live on the North Shore or Lower Northern Beaches / have thorough knowledge of the area

**Hourly Rate**
- $30 - $40 p/h (increase with experience in role), plus vehicle allowance.
- 20-30 hours per week spread from Mon to Fri - occasional weekend shift

**Salary**: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
